The German tugboat Argentina stranded on the north side of Merre on 10. November 1944, and disappeared in the deep a couple of days later. The wreck of Argentina rest on a depth of twenty eight meters in several parts. Only the stern section is still in a relatively good condition, and here you can still read the letters ARGENTINA EMDEN.
