Oslo VI was one of
the small and among the oldest passenger ships owned by Oslofergene
Ltd. After a collision with M\S Achat in 1993 the vessel sunk outside
the Langøya. Oslo VI was on her regular journey to the islands
in the Oslofjord with passengers when the collision occurs. The
vessel start to take in water after the accident and soon thereafter
all the peoples onboard have to jump in the water when Oslo VI sinks.
One passenger later dies after the accident in the hospital. The
ship was registered for 94 passengers and a crew of two men, but
was overloaded with passengers when the accident occurred. The roof
of the ship floated up to the surface after the ship had disappeared
in the deep, and the wreck of Oslo VI itself can be found in a good
condition thirty meters outside the southwest end of the Rambergøya
( Ramberg Island ) just outside the city of Oslo. The wreck lies
on a depth of twenty five to thirty four meters. A boat and a permission
from the Oslo harbor authority is necessary to dive on Oslo
VI...
