Right outside Oslo city lies the island of Gressholmen, only five minutes with a boat from the harbor. The islands has for years been a place for condemned boats, and several has gone down here. On the east side of Gressholmen lies a large buoy ( approx. 2x1 meter ) right outside Gressholmen Kro, and by following the mooring down in the deep, you will get down to six wrecks on a depth of fifteen to twenty meters. The two largest and maybe the most interesting are the wrecks of a barge built of steel which lies on her side, and has a length of 35-40 meters, and a restaurant boat with a large open deck. The other wrecks are of smaller fishing boats and alike, and more information about these will be added as soon as we have checked out the site. The visibility so far in the harbor can be quite poor in the summer, så if you plan to dive here, autumn and winter would be the best time of the year to do so. Since the position also is inside Oslo harbor, you must have a permission from Oslo Harbor authority. Trips are often arranged by dive centers in Oslo out to these wrecks...
