The motorvessel Katja went down in the Fedjefjorden at Senoksen after the skipper had lost his orientation towards land under harsh weather, and stranded on Storebåen on the morning November 16th 1964. The vessel was on a journey from Mo i Rana to Bergen with a cargo of steel and a crew of six men when the accident occurred. In the stranding the bow received heavy damage, and in the hours that followed different inventory was salvaged, and a few hours later the stern section sank down in the deep. In the days that followed the cargo was salvaged and not many days after the accident the vessel disappeared in the deep under a storm. Today the wreck of Katja rest north east of Storebåen west of Lynguksen and north of Senuksen on a depth of ten to twenty meters. The wreck can be difficult to find, but by following the iron pole north of the reef along the edge to north east of the reef you will find the wreck lying on sand bottom. The wreck itself is partly broken down and the bow section lies upside down by itself, but the stern is still in good shape. The wreck of Katja can only be reached by boat under nice weather...
