BV 138 ble brukt av tyskerne under den andre verdenskrig som rekognoseringsfly rundt om i Europa. Selv om den første serien hadde mange tekniske problemer, klarte produsenten Blohm & Voss å bli kvitt feilene i senere modeller, og flyet ble holdt i tjeneste under Luftwaffe gjennom krigen. I Billefjorden hviler vraket av en slik BV 138 C-serie på en dybde av tjuefem til tretti meter i relativt god stand. Denne BV 138 antas å ha blitt senket under et flyangrep i 1943 mot sjøflyhavna i Ytre Billefjord. Vraket av denne BV 138 C kan lokaliseres utenfor Reinøya i Ytre Billefjord, og kan være vanskelig å finne. For å komme ut til vraket trenger man en båt og hjelp fra lokale dykkere som kjenner til vrakstedet til dette flyet...


BV 138 was used by the Germans under world war two as a reconnoisance airplane aorund in Europe. Even if the first serie had many technical problems, the producer Blohm & Voss managed to get rid of the problems in later models, and the plane was kept in service under Luftwaffe throughout the war. In Billefjorden a wreck of a BV 138 C-serie rest on a depth of twenty five to thirty meters in a relatively good condition. This BV 138 is pressumed to have been sunk under an airstrike in 1943 against the seaplane harbor in Ytre Billefjord. The wreck of this BV 138 C can be located outside Reinøya in Ytre Billefjord, and can be hard to find. To get out to the wreck you need a boat and help from local divers who knows the wrecksite to this airplane...
