The tugboat Tienstin disappeared in the deep at Abu Galawa, or better known under the name Fury Shoal north of Ras Banas in Egypt, sometime in the 50`s. Technical data or a detailed story of this small tugboat seems almost impossible to provide, but today the wreck of Tienstin rest almost completely intact as a Donald Duck wreck, standing on her keel with a small listing towards starboard on a depth of eighteen meters. The wooden deck has smoldered away a long time ago, and you can therefore see straight in to the engine room and the hull without problems. Tienstin is not a big wreck, but is a pretty popular dive site for local dive operators in Marsa Alam. Nice weather and a boat is necessary if you want to visit the wreck of this tug boat...
The Tienstin can be
dived from dayboats operating from the Marsa Alam area, RIBs from
Marsa Wadi Lahami and from a number of liveaboards. Tour operator
