King Mitch was found by divers six kilometers outside Hardy Bay, St Georges on Grenada a couple of years ago. The ship was earlier bought from US Navy where she had done service as a minesweeper, and under a journey in 1981 with a cargo of concrete, she started taking in water and sank. The crew got away from the loss without injuries, but King Mitch ended permanently up on the sea bottom outside Hardy Bay. The wreck rest today on her port side on a depth of thirty four to thirty seven meters, and is in a good shape. Plates around the bridge has fallen of, but the rest of the wreck is mainly intact. The wreck site is also a popular place for different kinds of sharks, barracudas, sting rays and turtles. The position lies in open waters and might by exposed to strong currents. A boat and nice weather is absolutely necessary to visit King Mitch...
