Bonita
var på reise fra Luleå til Holtenau med en last av jernmalm da hun kolliderte
med dampskipet Bojan den 14. Oktober 1941. På grunn av krigen går alle
fartøy nesten helt uten lys i disse områdene, og det svenske skipet
Bojan rekker ikke styre unna Bonita i disse mørke morgentimene. Ulykken
skjer ni nautiske mil sør for Trelleborg, og i kollisjonen blir babord
side av skipet revet opp. Bonita synker i dypet i løpet av noen få minutter,
og av besetningen på tjuefire mann, overlever kun kapteinen S. Farup
og tre mann. Vraket av Bonita hviler idag på kjølen på en dybde av tretti
til førtito meter og er et stort og intakt "Donald Duck vrak...
Bonita was on a journey
from Luleaa to Haltenau with a cargo of iron ore when she collided
with the steamer Bojan 14. October 1941. Because of the war all
vessels goes through these waters almost without any lights on,
and the Swedish ship Bojan does not have time to steer away Bonita
in these dark morning hours. The accient occur nine nautical miles
south of Trelleborg, and in the coliision the port side of the
ship is torn open. Bonita sinks in the deep within a few minutes,
and of the crew of twenty four men, only the captain S. Farup
and three men survives. The wreck of Bonita rest today on her
keel on a depth of thirty to forty two meters and is a large and
intact "Donald Duck" wreck....
