The Norwegian steamship President Christie was on a journey from Stavanger to Oslo 31. January 1936 when they under heavy fog touched ground on Tristeingrunnen after having drifted out of course. President Christie was heavily damaged under the accident, and the crew of twenty men andone female passenger therefore later left the ship after they had got of the bank and were picked up by a pilot vessel which was in the area. President Christie which took in a lot of water disappeared in the deep somewhere in the waters outside Vestfold without anyone capable of telling the exact position. It is presumed that the wreck can be located north of Tristeingrunnen in shallow waters, and the latest rumors says that the wreck now has been found...
