Florvåg gikk ned i dypet utenfor Gravdal i Byfjorden 6. August 1941 under en reise fra Bergen til Askøy. Fergen var opprinnelig lagt ned for det Danske selskapet DS A/S Rødby Havn i 1919 under navnet Gaabense, men endte opp i Bergen i 1939 under nytt navn Florvåg. Rykter fra dykkere sier at ferga er i god stand, og befinner seg på grunn dybde. En båt er nødvendig for å komme ut til vraket...


Florvåg went down in the deep outside Gravdal in Byfjorden 6. August 1941 under a journey from Bergen to Askøy. The ferry was originally laid down for the Danish company DS A/S Rødby Havn in 1919 under the name Gaabense, but ended up in Bergen in 1939 under the new name Florvåg. Rumors from divers says that the ferry is is a good condition, and can be found on a shallow depth. A boat is necessary to get out to the wreck...

Steel hull, 92,5’ x 18,1’ x 6,4’, 125 gt, diesel engine of unknown type. Sold in Jan.-1939 to Askøy Bilferjeselskap A/S, Florvåg, Askøy and renamed Florvåg. Registered for 295 passengers and 8 cars. Entered service from Sukkerhusbryggen in Bergen to Florvåg, Askøy on May 31-1939.
WW II: Sank on Aug. 6-1941 off Gravdal when on her way across Byfjorden.
