The steamship Drammen was a small cargo vessel which sank west of Steilene on the west side of Nesoddlandet in Akershus county after a collision with the steamship Union III on thursday 5. November 1914, with a cargo of beer, wine and other goods. Drammen sank within barely five minutes, but nobody got injured during this accident. The ship went down in an area with rough underwater formations and a search operation divers pulled out in the nineties, soon showed the difficulties around finding the wreck. In the summer of 1993 they started using a sonar, and soon they found a wreck near Steilene which in fact were Drammen. The wreck of Drammen stands on her reel and it's a typical "Donald Duck" wreck in good condition with exception of damages on the bow section. The depths on the wreck range from thirty two to forty two meter in open waters outside Nesoddlandet and a boat is necessary to visit this wreck of Drammen. The wreck can be quite difficult lo locate where she rest at Torskegrunnen west of Steilene...
